AUGUSTANA

2003年，就读伊利诺州格林维尔学院的

为音乐理想而组起『Augustana』乐团，成军不久之后，Dan Layus和Josiah Rosen决定放弃学业，前往洛杉矶一圆主流厂牌发片梦想，一开始他们到处争取演出机会，在建立起名声时，发行了自制限量一千张的首张专辑『Midwest Skies and Sleepless Mondays』和『Mayfield EP』，同年，贝司手Simeon Lorhmann选择继续完成学业而退出乐团。2004年，主唱Dan Layus和Justin South、Josiah Rosen、Jared Palomar重新拾起『Augustana』团名，并在数场公开演出中脱颖而出，获得主流大厂 Epic Records一只合约。2004年冬天，『Augustana』於乔治亚州的亚特兰大录制首张专辑，并邀请名制作人Brendan O’Brien操刀，完成十一首优质作品。

2005年9月6日，『Augustana』推出主流旗下的首张专辑『All The Stars And Boulevards』，有别於一般摇滚乐团，你不会在他们的音乐中听见劲力嘶吼的猛烈，取而代之的是轻柔的抒情曲调，单曲『Boston』 (Billboard流行热门单曲榜Top34、热门单曲榜Top31、热门成人榜Top10)就是一首十分贴近内心的动人作品，结合钢琴与Dan Layus的真诚嗓音，宛如Coldplay(酷玩乐团)的温暖摇滚基调搭配Keane(基因乐团)主唱Tom Chaplin的抒情声线(与CD侧标同感)，『Wasteland』、『Stars and Boulevards』、『Mayfield』与『Sunday Best』都是『Augustana』最擅长的流畅摇滚作品，Dan Layus毫无瑕疵的完美转音，彷佛坐在绿荫下吹著凉爽微风，却又是令人如此深刻!2006年4月，Josiah Rosen离团发行个人专辑『a memoir』后，乐团加入David Lamoureux(合声、键盘手)及Chris Sachtleben(吉他主音、曼陀铃)两名成员，五人的『Augustana』正式成型。9月12日，『All The Stars And Boulevards』重新发行，并加收新曲『Marie』混音版本的『Wasteland』和『Stars and Boulevards』、『Boston』空心吉他版本。2007年 ，『All The Stars And Boulevards』专辑获得Billboard专辑榜Top96及新进艺人榜(Top Heatseekers)冠军。
